DIGITAL ART

Digitized Emotions

Sophisticated digital fine art that integrates electronic media and traditional values of fine art. Elements of figures and nature blend into distinguished, harmonious color tones and textures translating forms to emotions

When I start a new work by opening a "New File" and the white page appears on the screen,

it is just as exciting as looking at a new canvas. I forget about the keyboard and technical stuff. I am overtaken by the magic of creativity. With the biggest available Wacom Tablet in front of me and a digital pen in my hand, it begins. First, I might make a sketch by hand to scan in, but mostly I use Adobe Illustrator for drawing sketches and paste them into Adobe PhotoShop. Most of the time I start with the brush tools in PhotoShop to create the basic forms and colors. Later I manipulate that image with plug-ins and combining different filters for more dramatic effects. I use many layers, always saving the accomplished phase before going to a bigger change. PhotoShop's "liquify" tool is very valuable for my work. Using it with different textures I can create 3D effects for garments, flowers, hair, etc. It is like painting with fingers. I use the color adjusting features a lot. Some of my work requires very painstaking airbrushing work by drawing outlines for every shape. Other works can be manipulated by simply applying the plug-ins. For outputs I use my Epson Stylus Photo1280 printer on glossy quality paper for portfolio or for smaller sizes. The bigger sizes are Giclée canvas prints.

I use digital technology to create vibrant images of couples and women while capturing their emotions. The attractive, sensual figures in my work reveal my personal understanding of the connection between man and woman and the continuous/infinite struggle to find harmony in life. The figures are, in some way, extensions of my personality, but the simple and timeless settings suggest a more universal appeal. I use a similar approach with my flower imagery, combining fantasy with intense color ranges and flowing lines to recreate the spirit of the flower. In their robust blooms and writhing forms, they too evoke feelings of sensuality.

I want to express:

• The universe's vital energy by making organic and botanical elements part of the human body

• my belief that all livings have strong bonds to each other and are parts of a larger phenomenon

•individual personalities and how I understand the difference between them

OIL PAINTINGS

Impressionistic landscape and floral paintings

Painting landscapes and flowers has always been my interest and mode of relaxation. Lately I turn to oil medium more often as I pursue my interest in fine art. I photograph on a regular basic, so I use my collection of images for inspiration. I paint my surroundings, my flowers, and the landscape around my Oak Brook home.  I look for harmony and simple beauty in my subjects.
I want to express the essence of a subject through detail, color arrangement and composition.
